It’s the most important meal of the day, and not because nutritionists say so—because there are waffles involved! More specifically, MICKEY WAFFLES. And bacon. Basically, breakfast foods are some of the best, so we want to tell you about our top 3 favorite places (so far) to eat breakfast at Disneyland and Disney World!

DISNEYLAND: Carnation Café

Location: Disneyland on Main Street, U.S.A.
Price range: $15-$34.99

Located on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland, this restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This one is our must do restaurant on every trip. One key thing to remember here, however, is that a reservation is HIGHLY recommended. Walk-in availability runs out quickly after park opening. But the good thing is that you can usually make a reservation pretty close to your trip arrival.

There are a lot of good things to eat here, from large mickey waffles, to frittata, to classic eggs, meat and taters. The food here has always been great when we go. We enjoy eating out on the patio and people watching visitors on Main Street.

Another great part about this restaurant is that the coffee and hot chocolate are delicious. Take a look at how big the café mocha is in the picture above!!

DISNEY WORLD—OUTSIDE PARK: ‘OHANA BEST FRIEND BREAKFAST

Location: Disney’s Polynesian Resort near Magic Kingdom
Price range: $35-$59.99

Located inside the Polynesian Resort near Magic Kingdom, this spot is our absolute favorite breakfast in all of Disney World. This one is a tad pricey, but it comes with an experience! Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto can be found roaming around the restaurant and will come to your table for meet-and-greet opportunities. Best part? NO PARK TICKET NEEDED.

Even better is that this restaurant is served family style, which means there is NO standing in line in a buffet for your food! This is a major bonus because you won’t miss your favorite blue alien while you’re loading your plate with piles of Mickey (and Stitch!) waffles. Breakfast includes warm sweet bread, fruit, waffles, sausage, ham, eggs, and potatoes.

Your kids will enjoy eating here, too, because throughout the morning they have a fun conga-line-type of activity headed by Mickey where kids get to shake maracas and be the star of the show for a moment.

Disney World—In Park: Garden Grill Restaurant

Location: EPCOT inside the Land Pavilion
Price range: $35-$59.99

We tried the character dinning at Garden Grill for the first time at the end of last year and we loved the experience! The restaurant is on the 2nd level of the Land building and slowly rotates around the scenes of Living with the Land. The restaurant is relatively small, considering its shape, so a key takeaway here is that you will get MULTIPLE character interactions with the residents Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale.

The food here is similar to ‘Ohana and is served family style as well. You start with a warm, sticky cinnamon bun (which was tasty) with a side of fruit and the main selection includes Mickey Waffles, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and tater tots. The food was good and exactly what we were expecting.

The highlight of eating here was the interactions with the characters. We saw Chip and Dale a few times, and one of the times Mickey came around, he played around with us and surprised one of us from behind (it was startling but hilarious). We definitely recommend this character dining if you or your family wants to maximize character interaction time.

We clearly have a thing for Mickey waffles. Where do you like going for breakfast in or around the parks? We still have plenty of places to try, so give us your opinions in the comments!
